UMW Alumni and Friends Turn Out for Fredericksburg/UMW Night at Richmond Squirrels Game

Over 200 alumni and friends gathered on Tuesday for Fredericksburg Community Night at the Diamond for the Richmond Flying Squirrels game against the Binghamton Mets.

UMW Director of Athletics Ken Tyler threw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game (with a called strike), and friends and alumni gathered in the stands to take in the action of Eastern League baseball and for food, fun, and fellowship.

"We had a terrific time at the Flying Squirrels game the other night", said Tyler. "We appreciate the strong turnout by our Richmond area alumni and friends. Having former Redskin great Brian Mitchell come say hello to our group was an added bonus. The Squirrels colors might be red and white, but there was definitely a strong UMW blue and gray contingent in the stadium!  It was a great night to be an Eagle!"
