A record year for student-athlete alumni giving, 417 former Eagles made gifts to support their programs!
Congratulations to Men's Tennis, Women's Rugby and Men's Rugby who have been awarded additional foundation funds based on their Top 3 giving percentages. The Eagle Club would like to thank all Mary Washington Alumni for their generous support in 2018-19. See the final 2018-19 standings below.
“Although we only awarded additional funds to the top three teams, all of our programs should be very proud of the response from their own alumni, said Director of the Eagle Club Philip Pierce. “Almost every team eclipsed their previous record for alumni giving percentages and I am very excited to see the chase for first place this year. Eagle Club donations are making a real impact for our student-athletes and it is wonderful to see so much support from the alumni who helped build our tradition of excellence at Mary Wash.”
The Eagle Club is excited to announce the Pride for Program Alumni Challenge is back for 2019-20! The challenge is an opportunity for each UMW athletic program to establish multi-generational relationships, linked by a common loyalty to the sport they love.

How 'Pride for Program' works:
Mary Washington athletics alumni will be competing to earn prize money for their team. All gifts donated from student-athlete alumni from July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 will count toward the challenge. Scoring will be based on overall athletics alumni giving percentages for each team. The Eagle Club will award the top three programs with additional foundation funds!
Scoring Formula:
Giving Percentage is based on number of donors of a specific team divided by the total number of athletics alumni of the specific team. Each sport's alumni giving percentage will be calculated quarterly and then ranked in descending order.
The sport program with the highest alumni giving percentage on June 30 (last day of fiscal calendar) will take home the first place prize.
Team Prizes:
$1,000 - Highest Alumni Giving Percentage
$750 - 2nd Highest Alumni Giving Percentage
$500 - 3rd Highest Alumni Giving Percentage
