Special Events
UMW Athletics hosts several special events throughout the year that allow friends and fans of Mary Washington to reconnect, make a difference and celebrate a tradition of NCAA Division III excellence.
Eagle Club Golf Tournament
Mid June - Included in the $150 cost to play is a $50 Flight Level donation to the Eagle Club. The tournament will also provide range balls, free drinks on the course, a pre-tournament meal and post-tournament meal, great prizes and more! Golfers may sign up individually, with a pair, or an entire foursome.
Eagle Nation Day
Early September - A celebration of community, Eagle Nation Day is a free, family-fun festival UMW Athletics began in 2013. With help from community partners, children of all ages have enjoyed giant inflatables, horse rides, interactive play exhibits and fun games with college student-athletes.
Homecoming Tailgate
Late October – Once upon a time, tailgating on Homecoming weekend was an annual tradition at Mary Washington. UMW Athletics bridged a gap to the past by reintroducing Homecoming Tailgating in 2013. Spaces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis online.
Hall of Fame Day
Late January/ Early February – Each year another class is inducted into the UMW Hall of Fame. HOF Day begins with a reception where the inductees share experiences and insight with current student-athletes, followed by a HOF introduction at a basketball game, and concludes with the HOF Banquet at the Jepson Alumni Executive Center. Spring Jubilee
Early April, Aligns with NCAA DIII Week – Spring Jubilee is a day of festivities at the Battleground Athletic Complex planned in conjunction with one or more home games. EC members are invited to this free event to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and student-athletes on the campus and in our surrounding community.
Annual Athletics Auction & Dinner
Late May – An elegant evening for a meaningful mission, the Athletics Auction & Dinner is certainly a night to remember! EC members, community leaders, parents, alumni, and UMW colleagues join together to raise significant funds in support of our student-athletes. The evening includes a cocktail hour, silent auction and plated dinner. The program includes remarks from some very special guests.
