Checking in at #5 on the 2013-14 UMW Top 10 is the continued success on the Capital Athletic Conference and NCAA Tournament level by the men's and women's tennis teams.

The women's team won the Capital Athletic Conference championship for the 11th straight year, and 22nd time overall in the league's 24-year history. Led by All-Americans Lindsay Raulston and Shelby Harris, the Eagles raced to an 18-8 record, and defeated Salisbury, 8-1, in the CAC Championship. The Eagles then hosted the NCAA Regional, downing Penn State-Behrend and Trinity (Tx.) in the first two rounds. Raulston advanced to the NCAA singles tournament, and with Harris, were the number one seeds in the doubles flight at NCAAs, a first for the program. Seven Eagles gained all-conference recognition, with Raulston taking CAC Player of the Year honors for the third straight season.

The men won the conference crown for the 15th straight year, downing Salisbury, 7-2, in the championship, and hosted the first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament, marking the first time in school history that both the men and women hosted NCAAs concurrently. After a first round bye, UMW dispatched of Wilkes, 5-0, in the second round. Juniors Tyler Carey and Evan Charles advanced to the NCAA singles and doubles tournaments, with Carey taking CAC Player of the Year. The Eagles finished with a 21-6 record, one win shy of the school record, and finished the year ranked 15th in the nation.
