#1: Anderson's NCAA Swimming Dominance
Holding down the top spot on the UMW Top Ten from 2013-14 is the performance of junior Alex Anderson at the NCAA Division III National Championships.
VIDEO: Anderson Claims Swimmer of the Meet
On the heels of claiming a new NCAA record, two national championships, and a second place finish in his three events, University of Mary Washington junior Alex Anderson claimed Swimmer of the Meet at the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Anderson finished second in the nation in the 200 yard IM on day one in his first swim in the event at NCAAs in his career. The next day, he bettered his own national record in the 400 IM at 3:49.25, more than a second faster than his previous mark. And on day three, he claimed the national title in the 200 yard butterfly.
The two-time reigning UMW Male Athlete of the Year, Anderson is the first multiple national champion individual in any sport at the school, as he now has three national championships on his mantel.
